1. What does the hunter do for lodging?

    Herrmann’s Monsters Guides will have lodging in certain Iowa zones. Where we don’t, you will have to get a motel near the hunting land location.


2. Does the hunting tract get over hunted?

    No hunting land tract gets over hunted. Herrmann’s Monsters Guides believes that quality comes in low pressure hunts only.


3. Is all land under Herrmann’s Monsters Guides private only?

    Yes, all land is very private and you must have a pass with written permission to go on any land under Herrmann’s Monsters Guides.


4. How far will be the shots at deer?

    The shots can be anywhere from 10 yards to 200 yards. It just depends were we put you.


5. Will I see at least a 150 class deer on this hunt?

    You will see 150 class deer to a world record. The potential is there and in the hunter's favor.


6. Are the Missouri hunts good?

    Yes they are! There are plenty of giant deer roaming the land. We believe in extensive deer management practices to ensure nothing but quality deer hunts. No matter what state you hunt, you will have a quality hunt.


7. Can the hunter fly in to the town where the hunt takes place?

    Yes the hunter can and will be picked up or they may rent a car for transportation.


8. Where do the hunters get their deer and turkey tags?

    The hunter must draw for Iowa tags in May 1 to June 5, and in Missouri they can be purchased over the counter.


9. Are Iowa tags easy to obtain?

    If you are a bow hunter there is about two year wait, if you are a gun hunter you are just about for sure you should draw a Iowa tag.


10. What if the hunter pays a deposit and doesn’t get drawn for Iowa?

    Herrmann’s Monsters Guides will hold the deposit until the hunter gets his tag and the spot will be held for that hunter.


11. Can the hunter do a Iowa and Missouri hunt package?

    Yes the hunter may do both by hunting Iowa and then Missouri right after he or she is done.


12. Is there a trophy fee or a size limit on deer that a hunter may harvest?

    No Herrmann’s Monsters Guides doesn’t believe in a trophy fee. Whatever the hunter kills for size he or she takes home.


13. Are there any returns on money on this hunt or deposits?

    Due to the high quality of the hunts offered by Herrmann’s Monsters Guides there is no refund or returns on hunts, and there is no refund on deposits since the spot could have been filled by another hunter.


14. Is the weather going to be cold?

Herrmann’s Monsters Guides suggests that all hunters look at the forecast before coming on the hunt and bring the appropriate gear for the hunt. But feel free to call or email before you come.


15. What kind of stands do the Herrmann Monster guides use?

    We use ladder stands and lock on stands that are safe and easy access for all hunters. We also use heated ground blinds.
